Welcome to New Roots. We’re a brand new web site aiming to provide a hub for progressive Christianity and a home for those who may feel disconnected from church.

New Roots aims to bring together a vibrant selection of articles, blogs, videos, podcasts, reviews, and anything else we post here to be a helpful guide along our journey of faith.

New Roots believes in church that is progressive, forward thinking, radical and inclusive.  The resources that are provided here reflect that.

So why ‘New Roots‘?
New is a strong word through the Bible. It seems that God wants to give us new hearts, new songs, a new covenant; we are called to live as a ‘new creation’. Here at New Roots we are seeking to draw together a body of resources that will help us live out new lives

Roots is another strong Bible word. It speaks of having a faith that is nurtured and nourished by being connected deeply with God.

New Roots is about both of these words. It is about helping us explore a radical, kingdom based discipleship in a fresh and new way.

In order to help us to select the right kind of content, and as a guide for anyone wishing to help us on our way, we’re signed up to the Inclusive Church statement of faith. It says:

“We believe in inclusive Church – church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”

We hope you enjoy the journey with us!
