This $6,000 scholarship is offered to high school seniors and college students who reside in either Amador, El Dorado, or Sacramento Counties in California. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA and be interested in attending college to prepare for a beef-related career.

Applicants are asked to submit details about an environmental project that they are currently working on, or one that will be initiated for Earth Day in their home, school, and/or community.

California table grape growers seek scholarship applicants who are passionate about building a career in the industry and focusing their undergraduate studies on fields critical to its future. The Agricultural Scholarship is a four-year, $25,000 award for students from the Coachella or San Joaquin valleys interested in the California table grape industry. It is open to seniors graduating in 2025, high school graduates, and family members of table grape growers.

To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must be current or incoming post-secondary students who are attending a university in California. They must also be pursuing an agricultural degree related to the seed industry. Each year, three (3) students are chosen to earn $2,500 to go toward their post-secondary education. Recipients will be chosen based on their seed industry affiliation (through internships, jobs, events, and agricultural organization activities), demonstrated interest in the California seed industry, scholastic achievement and activities, an essay, letter(s) of recommendation, and financial need.

The SEG Scholarships are funded by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, a global not-for-profit organization with a mission of supporting and providing encouragement and professional development resources to the geophysicists of today and tomorrow. Each year, the SEG Scholarships award up to $10,000 to high school seniors, college, and graduate students interested in pursuing a career in applied geophysics. The CDFA Internship Program is designed for college students of all majors and backgrounds who have an interest in agriculture, California government, and public service. Internships are available to students year round and generally last 10-16 weeks. Students should be available for at least 8 — 10 hours per week, up to 30 hours per week, depending on the internship offered. (Must have been accepted to a college at this point)
Start your career at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The USDA offers federal internship and employment opportunities for current students, recent graduates, recent veterans, and those with advanced degrees. There are three pathway opportunities. There is a also Scholarship program.

This eight-week, paid program pairs interns, called Hutton Scholars, with fisheries professionals to build first-hand experience with fisheries science. Hutton Scholars conduct research in both a lab and field setting, assist with resource conservation and management projects, and gain an understanding of the importance of healthy aquatic systems.

ACES is a year-long internship for high school students interested in arts and science education. Interns assist with two of Wave Hill’s programs and help visitors create art inspired by nature; responsibilities can include everything from organizing and cleaning up after events to communicating information to visitors and helping prepare educational displays. Interns also participate in college readiness and STEAM workshops, take field trips, and explore potential career paths.

This program for Bay Area youth is focused on community building, service learning, and exploration. Students will participate in service projects like trail work, habitat restoration, and community cleanups while building valuable skills like communication, teamwork, and public speaking. Students will also learn about their local, state, and national parks and take part in activities like overnight trips, kayaking, and cooking. Students are eligible to receive a $2,300 education reward at the conclusion of the program. (change)

Are you a middle, high school, or college student passionate about environmental cleanup and conservation efforts? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you: the Apprentice Ecologist Initiative! Each year, the initiative asks students to conduct their own environmental stewardship project, take a few photos of their project, write an essay about it, and submit their favorite project photo as well as their essay. After doing so, you will officially be an Apprentice Ecologist and your work will be published on the Global Registry of Apprentice Ecologists! Further, the authors of the top three essays will be awarded $1,750 and receive a t-shirt or tote bag.

This $3,000 scholarship is open to high school seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to animal welfare through volunteer work and/or advocacy. Applicants should intend to pursue a career that will seek to reduce animal suffering and protect vulnerable species.
his program for high school students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade provides them with the chance to perform real research and engage with the excitement around them. Students learn about scientific inquiry and observation while building skills in data collection, identifying plants and animals, and hiking safety. Ultimately, the program makes science more personal and less theoretical.
